Our Rules for Membership

  • Qualifications

    Membership is open to anyone who:

    1. Is a practicing Christian and can embrace our Statement of Faith.

    2. Is active and serves in a local Christ-centered, Bible focused Christian church.

    3. Owns and operates an American V-twin motorcycle or is the spouse of said person (Membership will not be granted to boyfriends, girlfriends or fiancées).

    a. An American v-twin motorcycle may be a Harley-Davidson, Indian, Victory or some other custom bike or trike powered by an American v-twin motor (i.e. S&S, Rev Tech, etc.)

    4. Maintains a current and valid motorcycle license and motorcycle insurance. (once mentorship is completed and approved for membership, the applicant will be required to show proof of a valid motorcycle license and motorcycle insurance)

    5. Is 18 years of age or older.

    6. Successfully completes the following items:

    a. Mentorship program

    b. Application to the ministry

    c. Background check

  • Organization Affiliations

    1. Black Sheep members may belong to other motorcycle organizations with the following understanding:

    a. The Black Sheep patch is the primary patch and will be worn to all BSHDFC official events.

    b. The other organization(s) is not in conflict with Black Sheep’s faith, values, bylaws or mission.

    c. The other organization(s) is not another Christian motorcycle organization of similar purpose.

    d. Members may join other auxiliary motorcycle organizations such as AMA, ABATE, Patriot Guard, etc. A small support patch may be displayed on the front, lower sections of the BSHDFC vest.

    e. Members will not wear or place on the Black Sheep vest any support patches for other motorcycle ministries or motorcycle clubs.

    2. It is strongly recommended that every member join and support the international rider group and the local chapter of the motorcycle that they ride. (HOG, LOH, IMRG or VRG)

    3. Black Sheep need to be involved with their local riding group chapters, but they may not hold the following offices within these riding groups: Director, Assistant Director, Secretary or Treasurer. This is to protect the effectiveness of that Black Sheep member and their chapter…

    4. Members of BSHDFC will not participate with or be members of secretive or anti-social societies…

  • Behavior

    1. Alcohol or marijuana (even if legal) will never be consumed during any Black Sheep function or ride. (This includes taking off the cut and leaving it in a saddlebag for a brief visit into a restaurant or bar.)

    2. Public intoxication of a member (in or out of the patch) will never be tolerated.

    3. The use of illegal drugs or the abuse of prescription drugs by members will not be tolerated.

    4. Persistent vulgarity and/or off-color humor by members will not be tolerated.

    5. Violence and/or threats of any kind by a member will not be tolerated.

    6. Members will not wear or display anything that is dishonoring to Christ. (T-shirts, pins, patches, etc.)

    7. Our members will either be single and celibate or legally married to a member of the opposite sex. (BSHDFC defines and recognizes marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman.)
